A day that never stood up

A Good State · A short note

A day that never stood up

Some days the body never stands up for long. The chair wins the morning. The car wins the errand. The couch wins the evening. By night you feel strangely tired and also underused.

That is not laziness in a costume. Sitting is most modern work. It is also most modern recovery. The muscles that like to be asked a question simply were not asked. The afternoon then feels thick. The late kitchen feels louder. Sleep can feel less clean.

You do not need a new identity as an athlete. You need a few interruptions that do not require a gym bag. Stand for a call. Walk the long way to the mailbox. Use the stairs you already have. One honest break in a sitting day is still a break.

If sitting is the only option because of pain, work, or care for someone else, skip the lecture. The note is for people who have a little room and keep forgetting they have it.

A Good State will keep putting “how the day was shaped” next to energy. The chair is part of the shape. So is getting out of it.
