Protein, without a cult

A Good State · A short note

Protein, without a cult

Protein has a fan club and a comment section. That is a lot of noise for something that is already on many plates: eggs, yogurt, chicken, beans, fish, tofu, leftovers that were not trying to be a brand.

People talk about protein because meals that include enough of it often hold longer. The afternoon is less of a cliff. The late kitchen has less to argue with. That is not magic. It is one ordinary reason a plate can feel finished.

You do not need a cult, a powder as a personality, or a number you recite at dinner. You need a calmer question: did the last meal include something that stays with you. If the answer is usually no, that is a place to start. If the answer is yes and you still feel loud, the story is larger than lunch.

Anyone with kidney disease, a complicated diet, or a clinician already in the mix should take website talk lightly. Food is personal. Advice from a publication is general.

A Good State will mention protein the way we mention sleep: as part of appetite and energy, not as a product launch.

This note is for general education. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. A Good State is a publication, not a clinic or a pharmacy. Talk with a licensed clinician before you change how you eat, move, sleep, or take medicine.
