Hormones, in the hallway

A Good State · A short note

Hormones, in the hallway

Hormones do not send a memo. They change the hallway you walk through: sleep, appetite, heat, mood, how clothes sit, how a Tuesday feels. You can be the same person and have a different body than last year.

People, especially in their 40s and 50s, spend a long time blaming themselves for a shift they did not vote on. That is a lonely story. It is also an incomplete one. Perimenopause, menopause, thyroid questions, and ordinary aging all live in this hallway. This site will not diagnose which door is yours.

What you can do is name the changes without decorating them. Night sweats. A new kind of tired. Appetite that arrived late or stayed late. A brain that feels less sharp at 4 p.m. Take the list to a licensed clinician. Ask what is worth checking. Ask what is worth watching.

There will be offers, later, that sit next to this theme. They will not be a substitute for care. Notes like this one exist so the hallway has language before it has a product.

You are not imagining the change. You also do not have to turn it into a personal failure while you figure out the next step.

This note is for general education. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. A Good State is a publication, not a clinic or a pharmacy. Talk with a licensed clinician before you change how you eat, move, sleep, or take medicine.
